Getting a little control

I've decided to get a little control in my sewing room.  I've been concentrating on at least getting some of these quilt projects completed to at least the flimsy stage.  I'm currently working on my second Grand Illusion. The first one is complete up to the binding, of which I have yet to make.  I sent it out to be quilted in January after completing it a week after Bonnie Hunter posted the reveal from her 2015 mystery.  I really like this quilt and the quilting.

I decided when I started that I would make two in different colors.  The one above is the suggested colors from Bonnie and here is the other one in it's pieces and parts.  I just need to get them into blocks and quilted.  It may be a Christmas present for a friend this year.

I also found all the blocks for my Christmas Lights (another BH mystery) from 2010 and got those put together up to the borders stage.  Just need to decide what I want to do.

I've also been working on my Roll, Roll Cotton Boll,  you guessed it - another Bonnie Hunter Mystery, 2011 I believe.  I got stuck at the strip pieced blocks and that's where it remained until now.  The same happened the following year with Orca Bay.  No strip-pieced blocks.  All other parts are done.  I have most of the pieces done for Celtic Solstice, just need to be put together.  Slowly, but surely I will get them done.

I'm still here....

I know, it's been forever since I posted anything here.  I'm really not much of a blogger mainly because it requires you to write.  while I don't completely hate writing I don't have a strong desire. Same with talking-not much there either.

I am going to attempt to journal my day to days here in hopes that it makes me a better blogger. Now, to get used to taking pictures of everything I do.  Some people seem to do it effortlessly.  I on the other hand can't remember where I left my phone half the time and don't get me started on the "camera".

Excitement Friday!!!

It's Friday and the next part of Bonnie Hunter's Easy Street Mystery comes out today.  Friday can't come too soon for the 200 something quilters who have linked up with Bonnie's Linky party to show their progress and the countless others who are silent as they persevere with getting the last two parts done so they can keep up, catch up and make up or still start up.

It's a fun party and eventually you wake up not with a hangover but a beautiful quilt

Part 2 - Easy Street continues

It seems that I am always late to the party.  Although I started this clue in plenty of time to link up on Monday, I finished part 2 of Easy Street last night. I  am now caught up and ready for part 3 on Friday.  I am still determined to stay  caught up as the guilt progresses.  We'll see how that goes.  To see who else is strolling down  Easy Street click on the link above or visit Bonnie Hunter at quiltville.blogspot.com

Easy Street Started

These are the fabrics for the first part of Easy Street, this years Bonnie Hunter Mystery.  Each year I start the mystery and get sidetracked and never finish.  This year I am determined to stay on task and get the pieces done each week before the next clue.  For part one I somehow miscalculated the number of 2-1/2" squares for my 4-patches and only made half of what I need and now have to make the other half.  I WILL finish part one before Friday when the next clue comes out.  I CAN DO THIS!
